Security Finance and Red Cross Partnership
South Carolina Corporate Humanitarian Award
Since 1997, Security Finance has been a proud supporter of the American Red Cross. In 2017, we strengthened our commitment by becoming active participants in the American Red Cross Disaster Responder program. Recently, Security Finance’s Lending Hand Foundation was honored to receive the South Carolina Corporate Humanitarian Award from the American Red Cross.
As an Annual Red Cross Disaster Responder, we remain committed to supporting disaster relief efforts and helping communities recover in times of crisis.
As the second-largest Red Cross donor in South Carolina, we have contributed over $3 million to support disaster response and recovery efforts, ensuring immediate assistance is available when it is needed most.
This award recognizes our dedication to philanthropy and ongoing partnership with the Red Cross to provide immediate assistance when disaster strikes. We are proud to stand alongside the Red Cross in their mission to serve those affected by disasters and build stronger, more resilient communities.
Disaster Responder Program
Even with increasing climate-driven disasters, the majority of Red Cross relief efforts are still in response to home fires. To ensure people and communities are ready for disasters both big and small, the organization supports vital preparedness work as well. With the help of ADGP and Disaster Responder partners, the Red Cross is able to help families get ready for disasters while supporting programs to help prevent everyday emergencies like home fires.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Red Cross continued its mission to support communities in need. As part of this effort, Security Finance and our Lending Hand Foundation, a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, contributed an additional $30,000 to help fund a new community vehicle for disaster relief. This donation helped the Red Cross update its fleet, ensuring team members could respond to disasters immediately and safely.
How We Connect With Our Community
Throughout 65+ years of operation, Security Finance has been an active contributor to the many communities in which we are located. From hiring locally to sourcing local purchases, we keep the community connected in more ways than one. And despite today’s prevalence of online applications and conveniences, Security Finance maintains that we are also a part of “Main Street.” Our brick-and-mortar locations provide a place where personal service and community interaction are still important, and handling financial woes becomes a little bit easier.
How We Give Back
Security Finance’s founder, Jesse L. Bridges, supported various local charities over the years — and his philosophy of philanthropy was continued after his death. Our fundamental belief in giving back to our communities is deeply incorporated into the company’s mission and values.
In 1995, Security Finance’s Lending Hand Foundation was formed as a long-term strategy for our company’s charitable giving. Two primary recipients of our ongoing contributions are the Children’s Miracle Network and the American Red Cross — each an organization with a presence that has helped both our customers and our employees in times of need.
In addition to contributions made through Security Finance’s Lending Hand Foundation, donations of business equipment are also made frequently to various charities. Our corporate-office personnel enthusiastically challenge each other and contribute both their time and money to support charities such as the March of Dimes, Mobile Meals, various local food banks and educational institutions.
Here at Security Finance, we like to say “You Make the Difference” — and we think our well trained and committed team does just that. Helping the people within a community with their financial needs, spending our own payroll dollars locally and contributing to the success of our foundation is how Security Finance makes the difference.
